We imagine a point where millions of people are using the Orbis protocol without even noticing it. Everyone will be able to communicate with their friends in a fully decentralized way, such as sending and receiving DMs in the app of their choice. The apps will compete on the strength of their user experience while Orbis runs things ‘under the hood’. Your friend may comment on an interesting article from a famous publication that has used Orbis as the base for their commenting system. This will come up on your timeline (in your social app of choice) because everything on Orbis can be queried and displayed across applications. People will be building reputations that will follow them across all the applications they use instead of starting from scratch every time they join a new app, which will also strengthen sybil resistance. We believe Ceramic is going to be a key web3 element that is going to unlock huge growth and performance opportunities in an almost frictionless way which wasn't possible before. Some people will also be running their own Ceramic node just to make sure that they own a copy of all of their social activity and can query the protocol in a fully decentralized way.
